Beginning in February of 2012, Higgstec has begun to focus much resource into the development of water resistant PCAP solution to serve the IPC market. Then with the collaboration with EETI, using their excellent algorism and matched with Higgstec concept, the opportunity presented itself for us to actualize a dream, a water proof PCAP solution for rigid outdoor industrial applications which are now incorporated by Pegatron on existing products.

IP65 & IP67 have long been minimum requirements in the strict industrial standards. Yet with PCAP becoming the mainstream touch technology, the market faces insurmountable obstacle when the touch fails against water when used outdoors.

Overcoming that obstacle is crucial to become a step ahead of competition. Not only does Higgstec PCAP solution work outdoors in rain, snow, ice, and dust, it has high resolution, great transmittance, excellent linearity and outstanding accuracy. By using Gorilla glass, the touch offers robust durability but also can be achieved by fingers or rubber/medical gloved hands.
Exceptional performance of our PCAP solution required a harmonic cooperation between sensor and controller by exact tuning of firmware to obtain the waterproof effects. Taking advantage of PCAP design expertise and a strong technical relationship with EETI, we had this capability proven and enabled to fit our customers’ needs for outdoor applications, such as Kiosk, POI, rugged tablets, PDA, GPS etc.
