Vivitek introduced several projectors today at InfoComm 2010, an A/V trade show being held here this week.

The new additions include the company's first native 1080p data projectors, as well as a series of portable projectors and a short-throw digital projector for the education market.

Vivitek's first native 1080p data projectors are part of the company's D9 Crossover series. The D950HD and D952HD -- each weighing 7.5 pounds with 1,920 by 1,080 resolutions -- have HDMI 1.3 connection ports (among other options) and Vivitek's VividWheel III technology.

Specs for the two are as follows:

D950HD:
•3,000 lumens
•3,000:1 contrast ratio
•5,000-hour lamp life (6,000 in Eco mode)
•$1,499 suggested retail

D952HD:
•3,500 lumens
•3,000:1 contrast ratio
•3,000-hour lamp life (4,000 in Eco mode)
•$1,899 suggested retail

The two portable projectors unveiled at the show each boast 3,000 lumens of brightness and weigh 3.2 pounds. The D330MX ($899 suggested retail) and D330WX ($999) have 2,500:1 contrast ratios, 1-watt mono speakers, and a host of connection ports, including VGA-in, composite video and S-Video. The D330WX adds an HDMI port.

Resolutions for the projectors are listed at 1,240 by 768 XGA for the D330MX and 1,280 by 800 WXGA for the D330WX. Both will be available in July.

Finally, Vivitek's newest short-throw digital projector, the D795WT, is part of the company's D7 line for education markets.

The native WXGA digital projector can reportedly create a 95-inch image (diagonal) from about 1.3 feet away. Features include DLP and BrilliantColor technologies, 3,000 lumens of brightness, 2,500:1 contrast ratio and up to 6,000 hours of standard lamp life. It is also 3D-ready, Vivitek said.

The D795WT will be available in August at a price to be announced.
